JAMB Warns Against Exam Slip Scams

JAMB Exposes Fake Exam Slip Reprint Scam – No Resit Scheduled

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has issued a warning to candidates about fraudulent messages circulating, urging them to reprint their exam slips for a supposed resit. The board confirms that no such exam is planned, and these messages are fake and misleading.

How the Scam Works

The deceptive texts appear to come from JAMB’s official 66019 shortcode, but the board has clarified that the code was spoofed—meaning scammers manipulated it to look legitimate. JAMB emphasizes that these messages are not from their office and are designed to create confusion.

JAMB’s Official Statement: No Resit Exam in Progress

Fabian Benjamin, JAMB’s spokesperson, released a statement to debunk the rumors:

“There are no ongoing resit exams. Some students who received these messages have already taken their resit and received their results. There is no cause for alarm.”

He further advised candidates who have successfully completed their resit to disregard the messages, as they are fraudulent attempts to cause panic.

Upcoming JAMB Exams: What Candidates Should Know

While there is no resit exam, JAMB has outlined the following upcoming schedules:

  1. Foreign Candidates’ Exam – This will be conducted in select countries across Europe, the Middle East, and Africa.
  2. Mop-Up Exam – Only for candidates who missed both the main and resit exams due to biometric verification failures, and only those granted waivers will be eligible.
