The University of Lagos (UNILAG) has officially opened applications for hostel accommodation for the 2024/2025 Second Semester. UNILAG Hostel Application: Key Dates
- Application Opens: 12:00 AM, Sunday, 27 April 2025
- Application Closes: 11:59 PM, Wednesday, 30 April 2025
- Balloting Exercise: Thursday, 1 May 2025
- Payment Deadline: One week after allocation
- Hostel Move-in Date: To be announced by the Dean of Student Affairs

Who Can Apply for UNILAG Hostel Accommodation?
To be eligible, you must:
✔ Have completed course registration for 2024/2025
✔ Be within the normal duration of your academic program
✔ Have paid all required fees, including the LAGMOBILE fee
If you don’t meet these conditions, you cannot apply.
How to Apply for UNILAG Hostel
- Log in to your UNILAG student portal during the application period.
- Submit your application between 27 April and 30 April 2025.
- Late applications will not be accepted, so apply early.
UNILAG Hostel Allocation Process
- Bed spaces are assigned via a random balloting system.
- Only students who apply within the deadline will be included.
- If you’re allocated a space, you must pay within one week or lose it.
Payment for Allocated Hostel Spaces
- After balloting, successful students will receive payment instructions.
- Failure to pay within one week means forfeiting the bed space.
Important UNILAG Hostel Restrictions
Students already living in the following hostels cannot apply:
- El-Kanemi Hall 2
- Gbajabiamila Hall
- Women Society Hall
- Other on-campus hostels
Violating this rule may lead to disciplinary action by the Students’ Disciplinary Board.
