Introduction
The University of Lagos (UNILAG) has officially opened applications for its School of Foundation Studies (JUPEB Programme) for the 2025 academic session. This one-year preparatory programme equips students with the necessary qualifications for Direct Entry admission into 200-level at UNILAG or its partner universities in the UK, Scotland, and China.
Admission into the programme is based on performance in the Joint Universities Preliminary Examinations Board (JUPEB) exams. Successful candidates gain eligibility for Direct Entry into Nigerian universities or international partner institutions.
Note: The programme is non-residential and not suitable for visually impaired students.

3. Admission Requirements
To be eligible for the UNILAG JUPEB programme, applicants must:
✔ Have at least five (5) O’Level credits (in one sitting) in English, Mathematics, and three relevant subjects.
✔ Acceptable exams: WAEC, NECO, or GCE.
✔ Ensure all required results are ready before registration.
4. How to Apply
Follow these steps to apply:
- Visit applications.unilag.edu.ng and select “School of Foundation Studies”.
- Fill out the pre-application form to generate a Payment Reference Number (PRN).
- Pay ₦35,000 (excluding bank charges) at any commercial bank using your PRN.
- Log back in with your PRN and surname (in lowercase) to complete the application.
- Print two copies of your completed form.
Your exam pass will be emailed a week before the test—print and keep it safe.
5. Exam Details
- Date: Saturday, 30 August 2025
- Venue: Distance Learning Institute (DLI), University of Lagos
- Exam Type: Computer-Based Test (CBT)
- Total Questions: 85 (20 each in Maths & English, 15 each in three chosen subjects)
- Duration: 45 minutes
Note: If Mathematics is part of your subject combination, you will write Further Mathematics in the exam.

⚠ UNILAG may conduct additional screenings if there are more qualified candidates than available slots.
