PhD candidates in the UK will follow a split-site program, spending time at:
- A PTDF partner university (UK)
- The College of Petroleum and Energy Studies (CPES), Kaduna
Eligibility Criteria for PTDF Scholarship 2025
For MSc Applicants:
- Minimum Second Class Upper (2:1) degree OR Second Class Lower (2:2) with oil & gas industry experience
- Completion of NYSC (National Youth Service Corps)
- Five O’Level credits (including English & Mathematics)
- Basic computer literacy
- Statement of Purpose (500 words max)
- Valid National Identity Number (NIN)
For PhD Applicants:
- Second Class Lower (2:2) first degree + a strong postgraduate degree
- Completion of NYSC
- Five O’Level credits (including English & Mathematics)
- Research proposal (5 pages max) covering topic, objectives, methodology, and data collection
- Valid National Identity Number (NIN)
Key Rules & Restrictions
❌ No double scholarships – Applicants with existing scholarships are ineligible.
❌ No multiple applications – Applying more than once leads to disqualification.
❌ Only PTDF-approved courses related to oil & gas are eligible.
❌ Previous PTDF scholars cannot reapply for the same degree level.
Required Documents for PTDF Scholarship Application
Applicants must upload:
- First-degree certificate or statement of result
- NYSC discharge certificate
- WAEC/GCE/SSCE/NECO results (with scratch card PIN)
- Recent passport photograph
- Local government identification letter
- Master’s degree certificate (PhD applicants only)
- Professional membership certificates (if any)
Shortlisted candidates must bring original academic transcripts to the interview.
